Bamboo is surely the most wonderful plant: It looks good, pandas will say it tastes good, and it can be processed to create an incredibly soft, smooth and luxurious fibre.
Bamboo is a grass, the same family as the grass of our lawns, growing with the same determination^ the more it's cut^ the more it grows with some species growing up to 30 metres! A truly sustainable fibre, it doesn't need replanting after cutting, it just comes back year after year. Cut a tree and it's gone. No matter how many FSC certificates it may have...It's gone, and it will take a few years for a new one to grow. Whereas certain bamboos grow up to a metre a day!
